The North American Vascular Biology Organization (NAVBO) promotes the study of all aspects of vascular biology by providing a forum for vascular biologists to disseminate and share knowledge from basic science to clinical practice.

James Hudson awarded fellowships to engineer heart tissue

Million dollar boost for UQ CCVB Research
UQ CCVB researchers Associate Professor Ben Hogan and Dr Kelly Smith and their teams have each been awarded a Project Grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council for commencement in 2017.
Ben Hogan's project was ranked as The University of Queensland's third most highly-funded project.

Mat Francois awarded NHMRC Career Development Fellowship
Congratulations to Dr Mat Francois who has just been awarded a Career Development Fellowship from the National Health and Medical Research Council. The funding will allow Mat and his team of researchers to understand the molecular and cellular dysregulations that underpin vascular disorders.

Mat Francois awarded Cancer Council Project Grant
We are pleased to announce that Dr Mat Francois has been awarded a Research Project Grant from Cancer Council Queensland. The funding totalling $200,000 over two years, will allow Mat and his team to investigate how blood vessel formation and growth is genetically regulated.

Enzo Porrello receives Heart Foundation Innovation Award
We are excited to announce that Dr Enzo Porrello has received the Heart Foundation Paul Korner Innovation Award for the most innovative successful Future Leader Fellowship.
The award was introduced in 2013 in memory of Professor Paul Korner and his contribution to cardiovascular research and provides a single payment of $20,000 on top of the Fellowship.
