Million dollar boost for UQ CCVB Research
UQ CCVB researchers Associate Professor Ben Hogan and Dr Kelly Smith and their teams have each been awarded a Project Grant from the National Health and Medical Research Council for commencement in 2017.
Ben Hogan's project was ranked as The University of Queensland's third most highly-funded project.

Ben Hogan honoured by the Heart Foundation
Ealier this year, Dr Ben Hogan was honoured by the Heart Foundation, receiving the 2014 Researcher of the Year Award. On the 5th of November, Members and Supporters of the Heart Foundation toured the Hogan Lab at the IMB and spoke to researchers from the Hogan and Smith labs about their work. The event aired across Australia on Channel 7's 6pm News. Deborah Fraser from the Heart Foundation said "Our supporters were captivated and inspired with the research that is taking place in vascular biology development and genetics and cardiac development.

CCVB researchers awarded more than $2.8 million in NHMRC funding
We are pleased to announce the results of the 2015 National Health and Medical Research Council funding round for researchers at the Centre for Cardiac & Vascular Biology. This new funding will facilitate research into cardiovascular development, disease and regenerative medicine.
Our researchers received $2,847,447 in funding for 5 new awards, including 4 Project Grants to Justin Cooper-White, Enzo Porrello, Kelly Smith, Ben Hogan and Mathias Francois and a Career Development Fellowship to Enzo Porrello.
